We love a smoked whisky, and ever since Smokehead came into our life we’ve been hooked—yet Thomson’s Manuka Smoke may have stolen the crown. From the first nosing—embers, burning wood, a whisper of Christmas spice—we were captivated. The first sip dissolves the day’s stress, unveiling manuka’s signature: a gentle sweetness wrapped in aromatic smoke. Smooth yet assertive, it layers charred wood with herbal eucalyptus, adding unexpected depth. A dram that lingers like a glowing hearth—this one has earned its place as our new bar favourite.

Thomson Manuka Smoke Single Malt Whisky is a unique expression from the Thomson Distillery in Riverhead, New Zealand. Made from 100% locally grown malted barley, it’s smoked with native manuka wood, giving it an earthy, smoky flavour with notes of cinnamon, clove, candied ginger, and manuka honey. The palate reveals sweet manuka honey, citrus, stone fruits, and wood smoke, leading to a complex finish.
