Shaw + Smith has always been a white wine house. Or has it? Looking back, the first decade or so (the nineties) was almost exclusively white, but thereafter, it’s fair to say that red wines carry their fair share of the load!
And it’s odd to think that Pinot has become such an important wine here when I always felt that cool climate Shiraz was the direction of travel. So, today, I am overjoyed to showcase five wines in this Report across all disciplines, and if you add Tolpuddle (under the same ownership) to the mix, these guys are rocking their finest portfolio to date.

This fabulous Pinot reminds me of old Ashton Hills models. Wines that tugged at my heartstrings while refreshing the parts other wines couldn’t reach. Perfumed, lean, refreshing and silky, this is a ravishingly enticing style and one you could drink all day (if someone else was paying)!
