Rioja, but with a rebellious streak. An excellent option for daily enjoyment.

This is a good introduction to Lanzaga's wines. You get minerals, citrus fruit and spiced berries. Medium-bodied with firm, dusty tannins and a tight finish. Well made and really drinkable now.

Aroma:

On the nose, it’s bursting with ripe red berries—think juicy raspberries, wild strawberries, and a touch of cherry. There’s an underlying floral lift, with hints of violet and dried rose petals, adding elegance. As it opens up, you’ll notice layers of warm baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg), a whisper of dried herbs (thyme, bay leaf), and a subtle earthiness with a touch of leather and tobacco, reflecting its classic Rioja character.

Taste:

The palate is smooth and beautifully balanced, with a lively freshness that keeps it incredibly drinkable. The red fruit flavors carry through, mingling with dark plums and a touch of cranberry, giving a lovely mix of sweetness and tartness. Silky tannins provide just the right amount of grip, while the well-integrated oak adds notes of vanilla, toasted almonds, and a hint of cocoa. There’s a fine minerality running through it, leading to a long, refined finish with a lingering touch of spice and dried fruit.

Overall:

This is a Rioja with vibrancy and depth—classic, yet modern and effortlessly drinkable. Whether paired with food or enjoyed on its own
