Rare Champagne is a prestigious cuvée that is only produced in exceptional years. Over the past four decades, Rare Champagne has declared just eleven vintages, adhering to the most stringent standards in the Champagne region. Each vintage is released as a limited series, combining three crucial elements: an extraordinary year, the expertise of the Cellar Master, and unique cellaring in optimal conditions.

The exceptional vintages of Rare Champagne include: 1976, 1979, 1985, 1988, 1990, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2006, 2007, and 2008. The current release is the 2013 vintage.

The production of Rare Millésime involves a careful blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. For example, the 2013 vintage comprises 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir, sourced from 11 crus, with seven classified as Grand Crus and three as Premier Crus. The wine undergoes extended aging on its lees, typically for eight to nine years, before disgorgement. A dosage of 9 grams per liter is added at this stage. In addition to the traditional Rare Millésime, the house introduced a new rosé cuvée in 2018, with vintages from 2007, 2008, and 2012. This meticulous production process and limited release strategy have established Rare Champagne as a highly sought-after and truly exceptional champagne, living up to its name in both quality and scarcity.

Rare Millésime 2013 combines tropical notes with minerality in two stages. Initially reserved, it reveals indulgent, pastry-like, and spicy nuances that unfold within a
noble and saline tension. Both silky and lively, it will perfectly complement the gentle evenings of June.
