The Blewitt Springs terroir is writ large in this 2022 MMAD Grenache. Fine and youthful red cherry and apple skin aromas are embryonic, with a Pinot-like flow and delicacy. But then it gets down and dirty with rocky, gravel flavours to start, backed by juicy acidity before fleshing out with layers of dark cherry and iron filings—all taut and young. The quality and volume of tannins is surprising and well woven into the overall frame. This is a big step up from 2021.
