The John Duval 'Plexus' 2020 is a celebrated blend of Shiraz, Grenache, and Mourvèdre from Australia's Barossa Valley
While starting a little shy, it builds momentum with time. Old leather and roasted spices and meats begin before plummy richness builds and offers strong support. This is elegance personified, and it has a lovely lightness of touch throughout, although with solid tannins in support. It will age well in a bottle.

Wine Spectator: Awarded 94 points, noting its complexity and elegance with flavors of espresso, Kalamata olive, salted black licorice, and spiced plum, complemented by hints of dark chocolate. The wine's plush frame and long, peppery finish were also highlighted.
Wine Enthusiast: Gave 93 points, describing it as rich, polished, and highly spicy, with tart red plums, cherry, white pepper, mocha, and olive brine. The satiny mouthfeel, elegant tannins, and a touch of alcohol heat were also mentioned.
Wine Advocate: Assigned 92 points, calling it "delicious" and noting its resinous and charry opening, with succulent fruit that develops over time. The 2020 season's drought conditions led to low yields, resulting in excellent concentration in this wine.
