Arneis Grape – The Piedmont Jewel

Arneis is a white grape variety from the Piedmont region in northwestern Italy, specifically from the Langhe hills. The name "Arneis" is thought to come from the local dialect, meaning "little rascal", referencing its difficult-to-grow nature.

Arneis is perfect for those who love crisp, light white wines but with a little more complexity than a basic Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc.

The Almondo family has owned this property for over 600 years, and Domenico Almondo’s single vineyard Arneis is unlike any other because it sits on chalky/clay soils instead of the more common sandier soils. This makes Bricco Ciliegie a hauntingly perfumed, bone dry, ravishingly refreshing wine.

They are defined by a tightly wound palate, excellent depth and perfumes that develop complexity with time. ‘Bricco delle Ciliegie’ is simply made.

The wine spends 12 months on its lees and is bottled a year after vintage.
