Darkness 8 Year Old – Intensely Sherried Speyside Single Malt

What you’ve got here is a cracking Speyside single malt that starts its life in ex-bourbon barrels, but then takes a wild, rich turn. For the last few months of its ageing, it’s finished in tiny, hand-coopered Oloroso sherry octave casks – and that’s where the magic happens. The smaller the cask, the more whisky touches the wood, and the result? Big, bold, intense flavour.

This one’s all about deep sherry character – think dried fruit, spice, and a beautiful natural colour. It’s non-chill filtered too, so you’re getting the whisky as it should be. No fuss, just flavour.

Darkness started off as a range of rare, limited-edition cask finishes – but this 8 Year Old was so popular they decided to keep it as a regular release. And good job too, because it’s become a bit of a quiet legend.

Awards? Loads of them. It’s won 11 major spirits awards, including a Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and multiple Gold medals from the International Wine & Spirit Competition and the World Whiskies Awards.
