A tiny bit reduced on the nose and palate, with the richness and tang of creamy goat's cheese (tastes glorious, even if that's a tasting note that doesn't sound great) but masses of pink grapefruit, pomelo and citron, a fleeting breath-on-lip kiss of beeswax that leaves an impression of frangipani, rosemary and marzipan. Flecks of sweet, smoky butterscotch tucked into rich, deep-gold peach and clementine. The acidity has stunning concentration, whorled into a conical vortex, ripe and beautifully curvaceous. Complex and arresting, it took my breath away.
A single vineyard wine sourced from the Meadowbank vineyard in the Derwent Valley in southern Tasmania.
The wine is bright with lifted lemon peel, spice and a background flinty aroma of natural fermentation on light grape juice solids. The palate is finely poised with juicy citrus flavours, stone fruits, and a mineral edge which is balanced by zesty natural acidity finishing with a gentle grip.

“Pure citrus and stone fruits riding on rails of mineral-laden acidity showing hints of white flowers, struck match, soft spice, almond paste and gentle whiffs of marzipan and crushed stone. There is a relentless minerally velocity and a sense of umami and sapidity as it gracefully disappears from view. Super stuff.” Dave Brookes

“Mineral style, lemon, thistle, fresh and juicy, savoury. Subtle + elegant with great length”
