Garnache, Garnatxa Sumoll, Can Sumoi, 2022, Spain 750ml

Can Sumoi is an exciting and innovative winery in Spain’s Penedès region, focused on producing natural, low-intervention wines with a strong emphasis on terroir. It’s a project from Pepe Raventós (of the legendary Raventós i Blanc family) and Francesc Escala, who are bringing a fresh, authentic approach to Catalan winemaking.

Biodynamic & Organic Farming – No pesticides, no herbicides, just pure, expressive wines made with respect for nature.
High-Altitude Vineyards – Located at 600 meters above sea level, which gives the wines incredible freshness and minerality.

The 2022 Garnatxa Sumoll is a juicy, light, and rustic red, bursting with red berries and Mediterranean herbs, features blood orange aromas. Dry and fairly rich on the palate, it has a glycerol mouthfeel that wraps up the tannins. The Garnatxa nicely buffers the rusticity of Sumoll.

The next year 2023 might not be seen much because a dry and extremely warm vintage and complicated by drought and wild boar attack, with a production loss of 60% - so stock up on the 2022!
