Dry London Gin / / Biggar / Scotland

Gin, Biggar, 70cl, 43%
We have chosen to put Biggar on our shelves because it is a multi award winner, small batch and great value for money. We feel it opens with aromas of fresh orange and oily juniper, underpinned by herbaceous and floral tones. On the palate, expect a smooth, creamy mouthfeel that starts gently sweet with citrus and hedgerow notes, then unfolds into a burst of classic juniper, balanced by thyme honey, cassia, and lavender.
- The Gin Guide praises its balance: “aromas of orange and juniper, with herbaceous undertones… a long and complex finish with spice, floral and earthy notes.” It highlights its smooth mouthfeel and balanced sweet‑savory integration, calling it a “moreish London Dry Gin” with Scottish character .
- Master of Malt notes: “Fresh orange and oily juniper, with a touch of thyme honey helping develop the sweet/savoury juxtaposition,” reinforcing its elegant citrus/juniper blend .
- The Gin Cooperative describes: “mellow aromatic citrus with a hint of hedgerows… smooth and initially sweet followed by a creamy juniper and citrus burst… complex spice cooled by lavender and cassia”
Biggar are a family business started and owned by two brothers, nestled at the foot of the Tinto Hills in South Lanarkshire, Scotland in, yes, Biggar.
