The End Of The Glass Bottle?

Are we looking at the end of the glass bottle for our drinks?
The government are charging a re-cycling fee at source. In other words, the producer is having to pay for your bottle to be re-cycled. That might only be 15p but it adds up massively. There are schemes being implemented like refundable deposits to the end user but many worry that it won't incentivise.
I have to say, in our bar, it breaks my heart to throw away some of the wonderful bottle designs. But, they soon mount up and I can't keep them forever, even with giving them away they still mount up and end up in the recycling.
Producers are now looking at alternatives like aluminium, plastic and cardboard.
We could be welcoming back bag-in-the-box wine! This time it will be premium wines leading the way.
